February 12, 2021A perfect blend of fun and education – perfect for homeschooling. This field trip is incredibly educational while also being fun and engaging. It’s a winning combination. I can not recommend it highly enough. We plan to buy nearly all of the field trips as they come out. Even though my younger daughter has aged past animals, she insists we keep buying them because she likes the holograms. This is a bit of a bone of contention in my house because my older daughter teaches and wants them in her classroom and the platform is quite ready for group teaching yet.

February 12, 2021My 3-year-old son really loves elephants so I went looking for a virtual field trip to Africa. This one was a good price and is all about African wildlife. It has 4d holograms that you beam with your iPad and the illustrations are fun and vibrant. What I really like though is that it’s very educational. There are things in it that I didn’t even know. My only critique is that it’s a little wordy compared to children’s books so sometimes my son won’t sit through the entire reading. or the workbooks.

February 12, 2021Not for toddlers. I ended up skipping sections including defining predators and prey; fast antelopes living and slow ones not; carpet vipers injecting poison and hiding in weeds, etc.

February 12, 2021Zoptiks is a hit at our house, especially the holograms! At times the content is forced and the cadence of the sentences trips up a bit, BUT after getting the hang of its become one of my son’s favorites (and I’ve figured out where to put emphasis on the workbooks to work…well, at least to work better). He loves learning about the different animals, and the information goes beyond surface level. Sometimes the vocabulary is a bit advanced and not always defined, but I like that it stretches him a bit. Learning to ask what words mean is a good skill to have, and I have found that people are very impressed when a three-year-old accurately uses words like tawny and herbivore. There is quite a bit of text per unit, which is great because it gives more info about each animal but could be challenging for kids who are not used to longer sections of text. Since each unit of Zoopedia or so presents a new type of animal, you don’t have to go through the whole field trip at one sitting, which it could be helpful for working up to reading more words per page. Although I tend to prefer to have photographs, these illustrations are playful and bright, which helps the field trip feel more like a “fun,” fiction book than an educational one. All in all, I love that my kiddo is excited about learning–both information about animals and vocabulary so this field trips comes highly recommended from our family.

February 12, 2021The interactive video really kept my little learner engaged. There were little popup questions and codes for him to scan throughout. He also really liked all the baby animals so much. Can’t wait for him to hold the postcard he earned, it’s going to be his first ‘earned’ toy.

February 19, 2021“I just want to let you know how much of a blessing Zoptiks has been to me and to my students during this pandemic. The theme in my classroom is “travel.” We have been able to continue with this theme by going on an adventure to Africa!. It’s been the highlight of everyone’s week. By far one of the best purchases I made this year.”
